This study aimed to clarify the main characteristics of successful administrative leadership, and to recognize the extent of awareness of middle management (heads of sections and departments managers) in the Yemeni business organizations for these characteristics and their applications.

The researchers used a descriptive methodology to draw results; data collection and analysis.

Several tools for collecting data through questionnaire, interviews, and references had been used.

Hayel Saeed Anam Group had been selected as a representative of the Yemeni Business Organizations; besides selecting section heads and managers at the Yemen Co.

for Industry and Commerce (since being the largest and most prestigious company in the group and Yemen) as a sample for the study.

The results of the field study confirmed the hypotheses of the study, which indicated that “there is an average level of awareness among the section heads and managers for the successful leadership characteristics".

Moreover, modern administrative leadership methods and the successful administrative leadership characteristics had been applied moderately .Consequently, a set of significant recommendations have been suggested as follow: adoption of a systematic method for promotions to leadership levels that includes all the competencies and skills to fill such positions.

Furthermore, specifying the training needs for this group of employees depending on a designated methodology that take into consideration their actual needs.
