This research paper aims to illustrate the role of industrial policies in the pharmaceutical industry in Algeria to develop the competitiveness of local pharmac-eutical products, especially as Algeria seeks through these industrial policies to regulate the pharmaceutical industry locally and increase the competitiveness of local pharmaceutical products in light of increasing global competition and its negative effects, as well as Targeting access to African markets.

The study concluded that the Algerian pharmaceutical policies have affected the industrial concentration through increasing the granting of industrial licenses and investment concessions.

It also gave priority to the domestic product over foreigners through its approved procurement policy and the incentives offered.
