The objective of this study was to explore the association of learning disabilities (LD) in Saudi Arabia with preterm birth, birth weight, age of parents at the birth of the LD child, and the weather during which pregnancy lasts the longest.

To fulfill this objective, a descriptive approach was utilized by developing a survey covering the above-mentioned variables.

The survey was filled out by (431) LD student, randomly chosen from across Saudi Arabia.

The survey results show that out of the LD students, (22 %) are preterm and (36 %) were born with very low birth weight.

In addition, at the birth of the LD child, (54 %) of mothers were at the common average age; whereas (27 %) were at a younger age; and (19 %) were at an older age.

Similarly, for fathers, (68 %) were at the common average age; (26 %) were at an older age; and (5 %) were at a younger age.

These numbers confirm the association of the subject variables with learning disabilities.

However, the results concerning the weather during which pregnancy lasts the longest do not indicate a relationship with LD; where (60 %) was warm weather and (40 %) was cold weather.
