The present study investigates the definition of Arab Union Cataloging and the important services it gives to libraries affiliated with it.

The study also sheds light on the benefit that the Central Library of Mosul University gains from its membership experience and its participation in enriching this project and identifying the main problems and obstacles that hinder the library to achieve its utmost benefit.

The study comes up with the following results: being a member in the Arab Union Cataloging and using it in important bibliographic records facilitates building a computerized cataloging of Arabic holdings at the Central Library of Mosul University compatible with international standards and specifications adopted by the most Arab and the international libraries.

The study recommends necessity for all Iraqi libraries to computerize their cataloging systems and joining the Arab Union Cataloging for the important services it offers to reduce the costs and unifies its data.
