الملخص الإنجليزي

Semantics is a branch of linguistics that tackles the meaning of words.

It also aims at conveying at the intended meaning and ignoring other meanings that the word used to have.

It also depends on the word connotation and its place in the sentence.

As such by only considering the denotation of the word, we realize that it connotes multi-dimensions.

Thus, we won’t arrive at the proper meaning of the word except when we contextualize.

In this way, the meaning will be limited and clarified.

The study follows the descriptive analytical method where the Qur’anic citations in Al-Mu’jam Alwaseet clarify the following: a lexical connotative study, textual connotation and the Qur’anic context, and kinds of the Qur’anic context.

In addition, it also deals with the foundation of semantics and its branches.

The Second Chapter dealt with an introduction about the interpreters’ efforts in specifying word meaning.

Then, it was followed by three applied researches that aimed at specifying word connotation in the Qur’anic citations from a lexicographic, semantic, and syntactic point of view.

The last topic focused on the syntactic articles and determined their meanings through the Qur’anic context in which it occurred comparing it with the lexical meaning, likewise its applicablity to previous applied topics.

For instance, the lexical meaning of the word compared with the denotative meaning has been dealt with in the second topic by citing the interpreters’ opinions and their extensive explanation on meanings, and, sometimes, depending on the reasons behind conveyance so as to arrive at the word connotation.

Indications of this research are of two parts: the phonemic and the antonyms.

As for the lexical meaning, it discussed several inflectional forms and whatever meanings they might have in
