الملخص EN

This research aims at investigating the political perspective of the state in the face of extremism and terrorism through a systematic study of the functional role of the state at the level of inputs and outputs within the internal and external environment and supporting tools, by discussing the most important roles and functions at the level of the Jordanian domestic and foreign policy in how to deal with extremism and terrorism during the period (2011-2018).

Thus, the significance of this research in the context of political systems' studies that deal with an important subject that has become the interest of many thinkers and scholars to look into the nature of the phenomenon of extremism and terrorism as well as how to address it at various levels, particularly the political level.

The most important strategies that must be followed by the state in the light of the internal and external environment in the face of extremism and terrorism as preventive measures and terrorist crises" management.

In order to achieve the objectives of the study and address the research questions, this study used the analysis systems methodology and the functional constructional approach.

In relevance, the most important question was; what was the most important role of Jordan in fighting extremism and terrorism during the period (2011-2018)?.

The findings of the study showed that: i.

Jordan has been able to take a number of measures both at the domestic and foreign policies level to face extremism and terrorism within the frainewrork of the functions and political roles of the state during the period (2011-2018) that supported other functions such as the political, social and religious ones.

ii.

The economic factor appeared influential negative factor in the Jordanian efforts in the confront extremism and terrorism.

This study recommended the need to address the economic and social problems as important aspect that supports the Jordanian political and security functions.
