F.L Ksors’ in the Algerian desert are considered a materialistic heritage passed on through different generations.

These “Ksors” are vivid proofs about man’s adaptation with its harsh climatic environment.

We have to mention that these marvelous archeological buildings made of local existing material is congruent with the geological nature of the area.

However, what bothers the researchers in the domain is their inability to know whether these “ksors” had been built before or after the spread of Islam when they used to be used as stationary places for trade caravans moving in the deep south of the country.

This study is concerned by one of the “Ksors” located in the region of “Bechar” called “MAOUGHEL”.

This “Ksar” is actually still not really well known as far as its dale of construction is concerned as well as ihe modifications that touched it throughout the succeeding generations.

The historical approach followed in this study has proved that this “ Ksar" is very old and this conclusion was drawn thanks to the materialistic proofs found on the spot.
