The analytical focus of this study is placed on examining the position of Britain from the separation of Katanga between July 1960 and January 1963 that has been considered as the main reason for the continuation of the Congo crisis , Excluding an introduction , the study is divided into two parts , the introduction provides an overview of the Britain's economic interests in Katanga until 1960 , the first part highlights the double policy of Britain towards the separation of Katanga , on the one hand , Britain worked to sustain the separation and on the other hand , Britain supports the efforts of the United Nation that which sought to end the crisis , the second part deals with the position of Britain from the ending the separation of Katanga , the earlier position of Britain in supporting the separation put it in face confrontation with the United States of America , which had been working within the United Nation for the reintegration of Katanga , at the end , the international will was stronger than Britain and its allies therefore it succeeded in ending the separation of Katanga
