The research aimed to try to identify the recent challenges facing the elderly from the perspective of students of social work, through identifying these challenges, and identify the variables, and the reasons leading to most of the problems experienced by the elderly, as well as to identify the mechanisms that can be used by the profession in dealing with the challenges and problems facing the elderly.

The descriptive analytical study was used within the framework of the comprehensive social survey methodology for (180) students from Umm Al-Qura University College of Social Sciences Department of Social Work of the eighth and final level students.

Questionnaire has been applied on the students.

Research results have indicated that the high cost of living is a new challenge facing the elderly as well as the sons’s preoccupation with social media.

The study recommended the necessity of activating of the principles and fundamentals of elderly care and adhering to its application, with the provision of databases for the correct data about the elderly, and the need for the contribution of the media and social networking sites to contribute to spreading the culture of the elderly and the challenges facing them & how to deal with them.
