The study aims at defining the factors affecting the evaluation of teaching performance from the viewpoint of students in the Department of Library and Information Science at the College of Basic Education, affiliated to Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) in the State of Kuwait.

A random stratified sample of male and female students, numbering (400), was selected during the first semester of the academic year 2019/2020 through a closed questionnaire.

Results indicated that the main factors affecting the evaluation of male and female students for the teaching performance of faculty staff in the Department of Library and Information Science are the following study themes: course presentation, awarding of degrees and preparation of the curriculum.

The theme of partisan, sectarian and tribal affiliation was the least important for the students, which proves the students’ awareness and patriotism.

As for the study variables, results indicated that there are statistically significant differences in favour of (males) regarding the partisan, sectarian and tribal affiliation.

There are statistically significant differences in favour of (females) for the time management theme.

There are statistically significant differences in favour of (males) regarding the assessment methods by the professor.

Regarding the (GPA) variable: there are statistically significant differences in favour of (Good) versus (Very Good) related to the professor gender.

Additionally, there are statistically significant differences in favour of (Excellence) versus (Very Good) regarding the curriculum preparation.

With regard to the variable of the academic phases, there are statistically significant differences in favour of second, third and fourth years compared to the first year with regard to the total score.
