The article deals with the life lived by the dhimmis (Non-Muslim communities under Muslim rule and protection ) in Al-Andalus in an atmosphere of freedom within the limits of not violating the Islamic religion and in light of the religious tolerance that Muslims committed to in Andalusia and contributed to political life by assuming some administrative positions such as writers, ambassadors, ministers or translators at the court of rulers, They also contributed to economic activity in its various branches, such as trade, agriculture, handicrafts, and tax collection.

The article also talks about the role of dhimmis on the cultural side, especially in two aspects: translation, and contribution to authorship and production in applied sciences such as medicine and pharmacy.
