The 21st century witnessed a remarkable evplution in the communication technology field.

The internet evolution led to the appearance of the social media sites.

The social networking with the spread and development of networks has constituted a dynamic movement, that enriched what is now called new media-alternative.

The purpose of this study is to determine the extent of the influence resulting from the use of social networks on citizenship values among youth, by determining the extent of their attendance and their contribution to spread values of citizenship, as well as the positive and negative consequences that impact these values.

The most important results were: the social networks -through postings in various styles- have reinforced the value of fraternity between citizens and emphasized national cohesion between members of the society, they consolidatedmost of the values of citizenship especiallydefend the homeland, and the right of political participation and voting.
