This study is concerned with a particular type of the Islamic history referred to as the local history in a brief and simplified method, it is wroth that the researcher has defined in the first part of the study the local history before taking in to account such factors giving rise to the appearance of this kind of-history as missing the political unity of the Arab Islamic state, the sentiment and feeling of a number of historians in respect of the need to write separate and independent histories concerning same territories in adder to complete the acts and feats achieved by general historians.the study has also dealt in the second part with another significant topic , name the types of local histories and as follows : the worldly local history concerned with studying the political and civilize final events typical of the state and it should be borne in mind that the oldest books of the worldly local history pertain to Iraq such as Bin tay four (died in 280• AH /892AIT AD ) ( History of Baghdad ), as well as the written work of the reference of AL-Uzdi (died in 334AH / 945AD ) (History of Mosul ) and others , the religious local history which has came into existence as aresult of the need to give more attention and to take precautions from fabricating anther teachings and to determine the narrators domicile it is to be noted that farm the first and earliest written works we received about the religious local history are as follows A book written by AL-Azraqui and labeled as (the news of Mecca ) (died in 244 AH / 858 ), AD (History of wasit ) by IBN Bahshul (died in 292 AH / 904) and others it is worth bearing in mind also that the written works concerning the strata are considered as the seeds or the corners tan for the religious local history in particular the reference or the written work compiled by IBN sad (died in V r, AH / A it AH ) and referred to as (the strata of IBN sad ) to the companions and their followers and disciples who have lived in chuff, Basra , Mecca and other cities and followed BIN khiat (died in 230 AH /844 AD ) has flamed in his book known as ( the strata ) the method used by IBN sad .

Finally it is relevant also that the second part has taken into consideration in its last sectarian the pros and cons ( advantages and disadvantages) of the local histories.The third part of the study deals with ( Wasit history book ) for IbnBuhshul as an example for the religius local histories and his methods.
