This work which we are presenting to the reader is a treatise about one of the most important historian of Arabia.lt is originally a PhD.

dissertation presented to the history department at Imam Muhammad Ibn sa ud Islamic university by Dr.

Muhammad Ibn Ali al- Asiri The work is entitled "Abu Al-Hasan al- Khazraji (732-812, A.H) And His Historical works.

Al-Kazraji, the Yamani Historian, was a contemporary to the Makkan historian al-Fasi, but he did not acquired the attention he deserved by modem historian like Al-Fasi.

The Saudi historical society which took it upon itself to serve the history of Arabia and those intellectuals and historians who participated in its historiography and thoughts, thinks that the time has come to give this great historian the respect and service that is due to him by presenting this extensive study of his times and works which are mostly in manuscript form.

The Saudi historical society hopes that by publishing this important treatise it would give the historians an insight into this historian works.

And also hopes that this book would constitute an important addition to the history and histrographical library Last .but not least we would like to thank his Excellency Professor Sulaiman Ibn Abdullah Aba -Al-Khail,President of Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University for directing the University press to print this book ,among others, at the expense of the University and giving the Saudi Historical Society Publications priority, in turn, over other publications.
