Guy De Maupassant is considered to be one of the French writers who were interested in the Maghreb region, in general, and in Algeria in a particular way.
The present paper handles the author's perception of history, politics and society in Algeria.
The thought in this work focuses on two aspects; sociological, when dealing with the religious and cult organization of Algerian society; and historical when we tackle about the great battles of Bouamama and Emir Abdelkader and the French policy adopted in colony.
It is, therefore, a question of describing the psychological aspect of the Algerian man during the French occupation.
الملخص FRE
Guy De Maupassant est considéré comme l'un des écrivains français qui se sont intéressés au Maghreb en général et à l'Algérie de façon particulière.
Le présent article traite la perception que porte cet auteur sur l'histoire, la politique et la société en Algérie.
La réflexion dans ce travail est axée sur deux volets; sociologique informant sur l'organisation religieuse et cultuelle de la société algérienne et historique du moment ou l'on évoque les grandes batailles de Bouamama et de l'Emir Abdelkader et la politique française adoptée en colonie.
Aussi, est-il question de décrire l'aspect psychologique de l'algérien pendant l'occupation française.
