The aim of the study is to identify the role of the social studies teachers in raising awareness of the emerging coronavirus, and the mechanism for activating that awareness.

It also aims to identify the most prominent proposals from their point of view in introducing diseases that may have the same effect as emerging coronavirus.

Qualitative research approach was used to achieve the objectives of the study.

Open-ended questions were used as a tool to collect the data.

As for the sample of the study, (30) male and female social studies teachers participated.

The participants enrolled in the master's and Ph.D programs in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at King Saud University in the period from (1435-1440).

Some of the results of the study are as follows: 1- The percentage of the main ideas of the qualitative data contained in the response of the study sample for the first question ranged from (40 - 67.7%).

2- The percentage of the main ideas of the qualitative data contained in the response of the study sample for the second question ranged from (30-66.7%) 3- The percentage of the main ideas of the qualitative data contained in the response of the study sample for the third question ranged from (43.3- 73.3%) The aim of the study is to identify the role of the social studies teachers in raising awareness of the emerging coronavirus, and the mechanism for activating that awareness.

2- Training teachers on the latest technologies and applications to deal with any circumstances similar to the current one ( i.e.

coronavirus ), so that the educational process continues with ease.

3- Increasing cooperation between the Ministry of Education and other relevant bodies in the kingdom in order to exchange experiences that were formed during a crisis of coronavirus.
