Contrastive studies are necessary for teaching foreign languages, as they provide students with similarities and differences between their mother tongue and the foreign language they want to learn.
We have selected two novels that represent the languages of the study and we have adopted a contrastive method.
In the Spanish novel Adelaida García Morales tells the misery of a young stranger who lived a desperate love story with a man she barely knew.
On the other hand, Tawfiq Al-Hakim succeeded in using literal Arabic to majestically narrate a group of anecdotes whose protagonist is a rogue.
The search for food by the protagonist is the narrative thread of Ashaab.
Both works of the study propose contemporary social problems.
El silencio de las sirenas (winning work of the III Herralde Novel Prize) proposes mainly a love problem.
Ashaab proposes more than one theme: the protagonist's relationship with his friend, with the renter, with the barber and with other characters in his surroundings.
This paper studies the transitive structures in Spanish and in Arabic.
The study of transitivity highlights the relationship between the nucleus of the verbal phrase and the direct object.
In transitive structures the verb selects and governs its direct object

El estudio contrastivo es muy importante en el campo de enseñanza y aprendizaje de lenguas extranjeras.
Este tipo de estudios permite al estudiante comparar el orden de los elementos de la estructura sintáctica de su lengua nativa con los de la extranjera.
Además destaca la diferencia entre los elementos de ambas.
Hemos seleccionado dos novelas que representan las lenguas del estudio y hemos adoptado un método contrastivo.
En la novela española Adelaida García Morales narra la miseria de una joven forastera que vivió una desesperada historia de amor con un hombre al que apenas conoció.
Por otra parte, Tawfiq Al-Hakim tuvo éxito en utilizar el árabe literal para narrar majestuosamente un grupo de anécdotas cuyo protagonista es un pícaro.
La búsqueda de la comida, a lo largo del tiempo, por parte del protagonista es el hilo narrativo de Ashaab.
Ambas obras del estudio proponen problemas sociales.
El silencio de las sirenas propone principalmente un problema amoroso.
Ashaab propone más de un tema: la relación del protagonista con su amiga, con el alquilador, con el barbero y con otros personajes más de su entorno.
El estudio de la transitividad destaca la relación que existe entre el núcleo del sintagma verbal y el complemento directo.
En las estructuras transitivas el verbo selecciona y rige su complemento directo En las dos obras que forman el núcleo del estudio se acude, a menudo, a la estructura transitiva, y por lo tanto esta estructura representa un elemento estilístico común a las dos novelas.
