This article investigates the security dimensions of acculturation in the Mediterranean region, in terms of perception of the cultural approach as one of the significant dimensions in measuring the state's security, particularly, under current digital and technological development, not to mention the way some challenges and threats in the region are related to cultural and value considerations.

In this regard, two views have been singled out; the first is centered on deeming the acculturation as an opportunity for Mediterranean states to narrow visions and promote dialogue for better communication and cooperation, whereas the second is based on the state of physical imbalance between the two sides of the Mediterranean will result in the hegemony of one side (northern Mediterranean states) on acculturation.

This latter shall be employed as a soft power mechanism, leading to potential conflict in the region in the years to come.
