Abstract EN

Starting in the third millennium, Algeria has seen an improvement in the financial situation as a result of the increase in fuel prices which allowed it to enter a new stage and follow an expansionary spending policy throughout the period (2001-2018), embodied in development programs, to achieve a set of economic and social goals, among them was improving the standard of living of citizens by influencing a range of indicators.

Therefore, this study aims to carry out an economic analytical study of the indicators of the standard of living in Algeria during the period (2001-2018), by analyzing and evaluating a set of indicators of the level of living and showing the extent of their improvement or decline during the period of study.

The descriptive approach was used to conduct an analytical study on the situation of Algeria for the period in question, and we concluded that there is an improvement in the standard of living in Algeria, but it remains below the required level, especially with the lack of a set of factors, including the weak effectiveness of industrial sector institutions and the inflexibility of the productive apparatus
