The purpose of the study is to identify the available water resources in the Arab region and their various uses, then to prepare current and future water balances in order to identify the water situation of the Arab countries, and to know the severity of the crisis, make an estimate and predict the timing of their occurrence.

The study revealed that the current and actual water balance corresponding to the difference between the volume of available water resources and the actual use of the three sectors (household, industrial, agricultural) is surplus.

The expected Arab water balance tells us that the signs of the water crisis in the Arab world will manifest by the year 2040.
