Abstract EN

This study aims to know the impact of the knowledge economy on economic growth in emerging countries, for a sample consisting of 18 countries during (1996-2016), using the Panel models.

The results indicate that the indicators of the knowledge economy as spending on education, patents for residents, Internet and mobile phone users, control of corruption, total value of international trade, foreign direct investment and trade openness had a positive impact on economic growth.

However, fixed-line users and political stability had a negative impact.

So, the knowledge economy in emerging countries contributed greatly to its economic growth and it had a prominent role in maintaining high levels of growth for decades.
