The Internet is a global medium par excellence, providing access to information and facilitating communication, but it is also an access to inappropriate and harmful content.

Child pornography has not only become a lucrative industry, but has also led to sexual exploitation and abuse of minors, exposing them to viewing pornographic content that harms their psychological development.

It is therefore problematic to strike a balance between several interests: the right to privacy, freedom of expression and the protection of children and their rights.

This article examines the nature of sexual offenses that children are exposed to when surfing the Internet and reviews the various measures that have been taken in Algeria and other countries to protect children on the Internet.

The options for resolving this problem are discussed, as it seems necessary to implement a series of measures, including legal and technical measures.

We have achieved several results through this article, including: the need to raise awareness among the public, in particular parents and students, of the dangers of the Internet and their training in the means of its use, as well as to strengthen the monitoring of the dissemination of personal information about children on the Internet and the training of investigators and judges on techniques and procedures for searching for offenses on the Internet.
