The Cataloguing is an important and essential part of manuscript science, It provides a description and data about the manuscript and its physical form, With a view to making it known to the public.

The purpose of this research is to identify the techniques of indexing the manuscripts and the experience of the library of the University of Emir Abdalkader for Islamic Sciences in Constantine in the cataloguing of its manuscripts.

In this study, we adopted the descriptive approach.

We used the observed observation and interview For information gathering, As our department own field study questions into three main axes, where he addressed the first is physical and human laboratory of the manuscripts, and the second with cataloguing of manuscripts standards, and the third in the problems and difficulties cataloguing of manuscripts, as well as to follow the analytical method to obtain results related to the importance of cataloging manuscripts and the techniques.
