العوامل المؤثرة في التوزيع الجغرافي للسكان في المنطقة العربية

Abstract EN

It is evident that Arab homeland suffers poor geographic distribution of the population.

Systematic and unjust features are characteristic of this distribution.

Most communities are concentrated in a confined area not exceeding 25% of its total area.

These areas are mainly the coastal and fertile plains of Mesopotamia and the Nile.

Communities are also distributed within tourist, religions and oil rich areas.

The remainder of Arab homeland areas are scarcely populated and some are unoccupied as in the case of the empty quarter of the Arab peninsula, or the great Sahara in North Africa.

It was also evident in this research that there are some important factors which have influenced this pattern of distribution.

These factors excreted natural and demographic effects.

Most prominent of these are water resources including precipitation, surface and underground waters.

In particular, River Nile.

Tigris, Euphrates, Assi, Barada, and many other seasonal streams in the Mediterranean coastal line and north Africa, are attractive areas for communities.

Basic infra structures in big cities and maritime ports are also an attraction as industrial activities in these areas are an important factor.

Natural gas and oil and mineral production beside rural and archeological areas are all considered main attractive district for communities.
