Abstract EN

The Algerian legislator, in amending the Code of Criminal Procedure in 2017, reorganized the Criminal Court, by establishing the principle of litigation on two degrees in the crimes, and amended its composition, and made it held as a general rule by an ordinary composition composed of judges and jurors, and an exception by a special composition composed of judges only, when adjudicated in some types of crimes.

In this articule, the study dealt with the amendments to the composition of the Criminal Court, including cases in which the criminal court is held by a special composition composed of judges only.
