The purpose of this paper is to examine the causal relationship between public expenditure and economic growth in Algeria during the period from 1990 to 2016, by analyzing the explanatory theories of the relation between the two variables, namely, the Vajner Law, which considers that causation is directed from economic growth to public and theoretical expenditure Keynesians, which see a positive causal relationship from public expenditure to economic growth, used modern standard methods such as the time series stability test at a significant level of 5, the combined integration test of Johansen and the causal test of Ganger, The results have a long-term balance between public expenditure and economic growth, with causal relationship in both directions, with a one-way causal relationship from public spending to economic growth, which supports Keynesian theory, ie, public spending causes economic growth and a causal relationship One direction from economic growth to public spending according to Wagner's law.
