This study aims to present a general perception of "thematic criticism"; by tracing this term, and the multiplicity of its concepts, as well as highlighting its main field, which is "theme".

The thematic criticism traces the "meanings" that the text carries at the level of words and sentences, but it is more concerned with searching for the "dominant theme", which attracts the writer's attention.

The topic has "vocabulary" that forms among them a linguistic family, and it has a "root" related to the psyche of the writer
