Abstract EN

The pension system in Algeria is based on the principle of intergenerational solidarity.

The financing of pensions depends on the contributions paid by the current generation in favor of retirees.

This makes it a highly sensitive system for the development of the labor market given that it has a direct impact on the stability of the financial pension system.

The aim of this study was to clarify the nature of the relationship between the pension system and the labor market and the extent to which the financial balance of the system was affected and then the problem of its sustainability in light of the indicators of demographic transition.

The study concluded that the solutions are of a structural nature linked to economic recovery and investment support to establish institutions and create jobs
