Abstract EN

This study aimed to detect the prevailing epistemological trends among the common first year students in King Saud University and its relation to some variables.

In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the questionnaire was applied to a sample of (300) students in the common first year in King Saud University.

The sample included 162 males and 138 females enrolled in the first semester of the academic year 1439-1440.

The study concluded that the epistemological trends were experimental, rational, and not of an irrational nature.

The findings also indicated that there were no statistically significant differences in the three epistemological trends (rational, experimental, and irrational) among the common first year students due to gender differences.

The findings indicated that there were statistically significant differences in the epistemological trends among the common first year students, which were attributed to the academic track (healthy, scientific and engineering, and humanity track) on the experimental measurement.

For the benefit of the path of health and scientific engineering track, which amounted to (2.52).
