The problem of the current research is determined in the answer to the following question: What are the reasons for the ostracism of the elderly in Iraqi society from the point of view of the young Baghdadi, and through the above the importance of the current research the researcher considered the need to review the phenomenon of ostracism of the elderly, and clarify the causes and manifestations and characteristics of the elderly.

To highlight the importance of research on the importance of the elderly category and its role in the overall development and building society and upgrading its role, and the importance of their care and safeguarding their rights and consider them part of society have rights and duties, and the importance of state care for them and satisfy their needs and the inclusion of these needs in the plans of policies, and the importance of containing The current research aims to identify the reasons for the ostracism of the elderly in Iraqi society from the point of view of the young Baghdadi, and is limited to the youth of Baghdad province of males and females category (18-24) years, for the year The researcher built the current research tool and is a questionnaire of the reasons for ostracizing the elderly in Iraqi society from the point of view of the young Baghdadi: it was built in the light of the open questionnaire and consists of (16) paragraphs, and the sample consisted of building the questionnaire and applied to (300) young men and women from Baghdad, and the questionnaire was characterized by psychometric characteristics The researcher used the statistical bag (SPSS) to analyze the data, and the researcher reached a conclusion: The average reasons for ostracism of the elderly in Iraqi society from the point of view of the young Baghdadi higher than the hypothesis average, as for any paragraph more severe than others is represented by paragraph (5) "Bad morals and weak faith and away from the teachings of those who are Islamic and other religions that urge respect for the elderly," as it represents their weight and percentage weight respectively (2.23), (74.44), while the lowest degree was the share of paragraph (3) "The poor relationship between the elderly and the people around them," she said The researcher reached some conclusions, recommendations and suggestions.
