Abstract AR
Abstract EN
Summary: Pilgrimage is an important pillar of Islam.
For this reason, the Muslims and their rulers took care of Hajj since the dawn of Islam.
They took care of drilling wells and springs in the roads leading to the Hijaz country, and spent much money to prepare these roads with all the necessities of the journey and places to stay and provide security.
The people of the Mid Maghreb, like other Maghribins, knew through their long Islamic history their keenness to perform the Hajj, and the annual occasion of their opportunity to meet and communicate with their Muslim brothers, as well as the pilgrimage back and forth was interspersed with scientific meetings between the scholars of the elders and students.
Pilgrims of the Middle Maghreb traveled three routes and roads leading to the two Holy Mosques, including the inland road, the desert road and the sea road, and not every road was fixed but changed from time to time according to the natural, political and even economic conditions.
