Abstract EN
The study aims at identifying the reality of the use of Koha system in the Sudanese university libraries, as well as pinpointing the difficulties and obstacles that face its use in the libraries.
The study adopts the descriptive analytical method to identify the use of Koha system and an interview tool has been carried out to interview the librarians.
The study concludes that: The libraries do not follow any standard when selecting Koha System.
It also employs the Koha system in the process of establishing and creating the index only as it is the main database on which all processes are conducted.
Moreover, the study reveals that the lack of computers and a well trained manpower to deal with the system could be regarded as one of strong reasons.
The availability of computers and the intensification of training courses to be held by experts {TOT}, along with the adoption of an adequate budget for the system and activation of branch systems are the main recommendations of the study
