The research aims to identify the extent of application of the scientific research axis from among the eight Iraqi academic accreditation criteria, if the research problem is represented in the lack of availability of the requirements of the scientific research axis in universities and colleges (the study sample) because of the weak documentation and successful implementation of them and that interest in them remains below the level of ambition.

The research was conducted on a sample that included five government universities, namely (Baghdad University, Al-Mustansiriya University, Basra University, Babylon University, Diyala University) and six private colleges are (Al-Rafidain College, Isra College, Future College, Iraq College, Mesopotamia College, Elite College) and The research adopted the comparative approach in order to make a comparison between them, A number of tools were used to collect data, including personal interviews and direct observation, and to build a check list prepared according to axis indicators, as well as using mathematical equations to extract application ratios and gaps, The research found that the application of the axis of scientific research was low in all universities and colleges, and weak work and documentation procedures, especially among private colleges.
