Human security is an arising formula to grasp the global weaknesses that defy supporters of the classical concept of national security by emphasizing that the appropriate "referent" for security must have the individual instead of the state.

The Human Security is based on "Human centrality" where security can be understood in multidisciplinary and contains a several areas of research, including the "Development Studies" and "International Relations" and "Strategic Studies" and "human rights".

The Human Development Report issued at 1994 by the United Nations Development Program "UNDP" still considers its publication as a milestone in the field of security, the report where argued that securing "freedom from want" and "freedom from fear" for all individuals is the right way to address the problem of insecurity in the world.
