Abstract EN
The study aims to define the effect of an Arabic prosody training program based on creative thinking skills of rooting and scansion of behers among the 4th level students of the Arabic department at King Abdulaziz University, compared to the traditional method of prosody education.
Selected intentionally, the study sample consists of 50 female students; 25 female students in the control group and 25 female students in the experimental group during the academic year 2015/2016.
To achieve the study aim, the researcher designed the data collection tools, namely, six educational lists for the prosodic writing skills, meter and foot of the verse, two pre and post achievement test, and an observation card.
The findings show that there is a difference of a statistical significance at (α ≥ 0.05) between both groups in favor of the Experiment Group which learned according to the training program.
In addition, there is no statistically significant difference due to the age factor.
The study recommended the application of the training program in the education of Arabic prosody and poetic meter.
