Abstract EN

This study aimed to investigate student's perspectives of Al-Balqa applied university towards intellectual extremism, and to investigate the differences within student's perspectives that can be attributed to students: gender, field of study, and study year's level.

The study sample consisted of (752) student's that were chosen using stratified sampling technique.

For the purpose of this study a measurement tool was developed to assess student’s attitudes toward intellectual extremism, cronbach's alpha of the tool was ( 0, 91 ).

The results of this study showed that Al-Balqa applied university student’s perspectives toward intellectual extremism was of middle level, and there were statistically significant differences within student’s perspectives that can be attributed to student’s gender in favor of male student’s ( p=0.000 ).

Moreover, there were statistically significant differences within student’s perspectives that can be attributed to study year’s level in favor of first and fifth year’s level (p=0.002 ).

There were no statistically significant differences within student’s perspectives that can be attributed to student’s field of study.

Also, there were no statistically significant differences within student’s perspectives that can be attributed to the joint effect of student’s gender and field of study, student’s study year’s levels and study fields.

Moreover, there were no statistically significant differences within student’s perspectives that can be attributed to the joint effect of the three variables: student’s gender, field of study, and study year’s level.

The researcher recommends further investigation of intellectual extremism within Jordanian population.
