Abstract EN

: This study aims to reveal the defense mechanisms among university students.

This research was conducted with 200 students of Hassiba Benbouali University of Chlef.

The study used the "Thematic Apperception tests TAT" technique .

We got the following results: 1.The defense mechanisms used by university students are as follows: - Control (A): 20.42 % which show the internal conflicts.

- The lability (B): 20.59 % which show the relational conflicts - The methods of inhibiting (C) : 52.82 % which show the avoidance of conflicts - Primary processes (E): of 06.16 % it appears in language disturbances as form and perception.
