Abstract EN

Whenever there looms within the Islamic consciousness in general, and the Arabic one in particular, a rational initiation of a renaissance and a liberal movement, there emerges suddenly extremist Islamic groups blocking such process and, thus, changing its direction and aborting its efforts.

Generally, the inevitable result of that would be harking back to the status quo, and, even, a worse situation.

We are going to shed light on Islamic movements (groups, organizations etc) which are ‘extremists’ either through conceptualization, appellation(s), or emergence.

Hence, our method is going to consist principally in probing into the concept of ‘Islamic movements’ at the level of emergence and appellation.

We see it quite pertinent to study the discourse of ‘Muslim Brotherhood’ while showing its influence, along with the discourse of al Qaeda which led to the emergence of ISIS
