English Abstract

Title: A Suggested Vision for Developing the Content of Reading
Topics Introduced to the Secondary Stage in Light of the
Dimensions of Knowledge Economy
The current study aimed at putting forward a suggested vision for
developing the content of reading topics introduced to the secondary
stage in light of the dimensions of knowledge economy.

In order to
collect data, the researcher made use of the descriptive/analytic method;
the researcher designed a list of knowledge economy dimensions
including (the ethical dimension, the cognitive dimension, the
technological dimension, the social dimension, the national dimension,
and the economical dimension).

Each of these dimensions was subdivided
into some features and criteria, and the overall list was then
tested for validity and reliability.

In addition, the content of reading
topics introduced to first year secondary students was analyzed, and the
frequencies and percentages of each dimension of knowledge economy
were calculated.

Results of the study showed that there is a discrepancy in the
degree to which the dimensions of knowledge economy is represented
