الدراسة مرتبطة بأحد الإشكالات المعاصرة المطروحة حول حقيقة الرواة الذين كانوا على دين اليهود ثم أسلموا إذ تبحث تفاصيل موقف الباحث محمود أبي رية من مسلمة أهل الكتاب و بالأخص عبدالله بن سلام العالم الإسرائيلي و حقيقة انتمائه للإسلام هل كان انتماء بحق و صدق أم أنه كان انتماء ظاهريا محضا ملفوفا برداء النفاق و مسجا في ثوب الخديعة اليهودية وقد خلصت الدراسة إلى نتائج قد يكون أهمها أن نظرية أبي رية حول مسلمة أهل الكتاب تفتقر إلى الاستدلالات الداعمة لها و بالتالي فهي دعوى مجردة عن الحجة و البرهان كما أن النظر في بعض آيات الكتاب العزيز مجتمعة وفي نماذج من مرويات أحد أقدم من شكك أبو رية في صدق إسلامه يثبت خلاف ما ذهب إليه صاحب "الأضواء

The study is about one of the contemporary problems raised about the reality of the narrators who were Jews and then converted to Islam, it examines the details position of Mahmoud Abu Rayya about Abdullah Bin Salam, the Israeli scholar, and the fact that he belonged to Islam, whether he was an affiliate, or a true follower, the study concluded that the theory of Abu Rayya lacks the evidence to support it, and when we looked at the examples of the narrations of one of the oldest people that Abu Rayya doubted in their sincerity of their Islam the prove was contrary to what the owner of "Al.
