Abstract EN

The beginning of Surat ‛Abasā (Chapter 80) is a commendation to the Prophet (pbuh), rather than a scolding.

The Qur᾿ān and the Holy Prophet's Sunnah (tradition) refute the claim of its being a scolding.

There was no considerable proof in this regard backing that claim, and all the pertaining narratives mentioned are either mursal (disconnected narration) or maṭ‛ūn (invalid) texts, not to mention many contradictions and differences in those texts.

Acknowledging such narratives could lead to insulting the Prophet (pbhu), as well as those of the companions who had special excuses.

Moreover, it could allow a perfect opportunity for the orientalists and their minions to slander Islam
