Abstract EN

The Moroccan armed resistance movement emerged in several parts of Morocco during the first half of the twentieth century due to the colonial campaigns launched by the Spaniards in the north and the south and the Franciscan in the middle.

Because of this unprecedented campaign, Moroccans were front of two controversial things; either to surrender to the forces of the enemy or to resist using simple primitive equipment.

A large number of Moroccans chose to defend with strength and determination these invasive armies while some others chose to surrender, retreat and even betray the country.

Faced with this continued colonisation, people in the northern region, however, resisted and defended colonials to protect their dignity, children, women and the inviolability of its territory.

In the western countryside, several models such as Moulay Sharif Raissouni and Ahmidou Essoukan who made valuable and precious efforts to achieve unity and face the enemies.

While in the eastern and central countryside, there had been other heroes who were not less powerful than their predecessors like Mohamed Amaziane and Abdelkrim Elkhatabi in addition to many others.

We would like, in this article, to highlight on an important historical figure who had a tremendous role in achieving dazzling victories against Spanish aggression.

Meanwhile, he contributed to the unification of the northwest in the company of Sharif Raissouni and Elkhattabi after that.

This leader’s heroics continued until he fell dead in the war square, bloodily coloured with dignity and patriotism.

Accordingly, this article answers several interesting questions about Mohamed Hazmari’s personality, growth, efforts he did against Spanish colonialism and finally his death.
