Abstract EN

The present study aimed to identify the challenges of cooperative participation among a sample of families with autism spectrum disorder and the practitioners working with them in light of some variables, where the researcher applied two questionnaires: the first on the challenges of cooperative participation from the viewpoint of families with autism spectrum disorder on a sample consisting of (148) families enrolled in governmental, private integration programs, institutes and private centers in Jeddah.

The study relied on the descriptive survey method.

The results showed significant challenges in cooperative participation from the viewpoint of families with autism spectrum disorder, and the families agreed on the existence of obstacles that limit cooperative participation, and the results also showed statistically noteworthy differences at a substantial level (0.05) in the challenges of cooperative participation from the viewpoint of families.

People with autism spectrum disorder attributed to the school type variable in favor of the government.

In light of the results of this study, a set of recommendations and proposals were presented to support and improve the ability of practitioners to engage families by improving their practices, and working to improve the direction of both parties towards cooperative participation, and about the important roles that families take in the education of their children.
