Abstract EN

The study aimed at investigating the attitudes of the learners at Al-Quds Open University toward opening MA programs at the university, especially with the increase in the number of the university graduates, and as the university is the only one in the area that follows the distance learning system.

To gather answers for the study questions and to the validity of its hypotheses, the research team developed a questionnaire that would measure the learner's attitudes toward the topic of the study, this is after testing its validity and reliability.

The sample of the study was (230) learners, that were chosen by the stratified random sample.

The size of the sample used was 10% of the study population.

After collecting the data, it was analyzed by using the statistical package for social science (SPSS).

The study revealed the following results: the learner's attitudes were high regarding an MA programs at the university.

The learners assured that it is vital that the university starts such programs.

They expressed strong tendencies to pursue their higher studies by the same system of distance learning.

Most learners expressed their desire that the intended MA program should include the following fields: Commerce, special education and social studies.

Farther more, the study concluded that there are significant differences in the learner's attitudes in relation to gender in favor of males, The results also showed that there are significant differences in favor of Nablus Educational Region learners whose attitudes towards opening MA program in the university were higher than other regions.
