This study aimed, through Algerian folk proverbs, to identify the representations presented about woman and to disclose them depending on her age.

Main results include that folk proverbs presented, noteworthily, negative representations of woman which are concomitant with all phases of her life and in various roles (girl, wife, mother, infertile, stepmother, spinster, old lady.
