Abstract EN

The study dealt with administrative and social problems at Bahri University and its impact on professional performance from the point of view of faculty members.

The study aimed to identify these problems and to indicate the most important problems affecting the professional performance.

The researcher used the analytical descriptive approach.

The study relied on the questionnaire as a tool for collecting information from the 300 sample members selected from the 764 study population.

The results revealed the most important administrative problems: low authority granted to administrative staff members, increasing the number of students accepted, the university administration alone in the decision-making and professionalism of the laws and regulations, especially promotions, inadequate services.

In addition, the social problems were limited in: after the university on the housing of the faculty members and the difficulty of mobility, the manner in which the university administration differed in dealing with faculty members, and weak communication and cooperation links between members in different departments.

In terms of professional performance, the results showed: weak scientific communication between faculty members and their counterparts in other universities, poor participation in seminars and conferences, limited opportunities for full-time academic leave, lack of books and scientific references in the university library, there are no statistically significant differences due to gender or Experience with the problems posed by the study.

The most important recommendations are: Building bridges of trust between the administration and faculty members by reducing the routine in the course of transactions and reducing the individual participation in the planning process, decisions and problem solving, transparency of the elements of the assessment of the faculty member and the granting of bonuses due, taking into account the proportion between the numbers of students and faculty and the creation of the university environment Services.

Facilitating participation in scientific conferences and increasing incentives, providing the library with references and modern sources.
