The failure of the economic development process, associated with increasing levels of violence and terrorism, has caused high levels of multidimensional poverty in Iraq.

The high level of forced displacement has provided a convincing explanation for the increasing proportion of people below the poverty line, which necessitated measures, procedures, policies and social protection programs to reduce the phenomenon.

However, many of the challenges facing government intervention options have enhanced inequality and reduced the social and economic equity of the population.
