The concept of human security is one of the important concepts in human sciences, especially the political ones, by its strong association with the concept of security and national security.

The human being and his security are the focus of its concern which explains its reliance on human rights as a standard to achieve it, so the liberation of the human being from fear and need are its two basic pillars, that is why it focuses on addressing all risks that threaten human life.

Human security is characterized by universality, comprehensiveness, and close interdependence between its components.

Global interest in it has increased after the escalation of terrorist operations, as they were accompanied by violations of human rights.

As for Iraq, the reality of human security indicates grave violations that Iraqi people have been subjected to since 2003, given the successive waves of violence, especially terrorism which left millions of displaced people, refugees, orphans, widows, and other societal problems that will need to be addressed for a long time to get rid of.
