Public administration is the mirror that reflects the efficiency of government performance, Especially in the provision of public services, which are the primary responsibility of the State; Many countries, including Algeria, have sought to find the best way to reform public administration in order to provide services that meet the aspirations of the citizen.

And after the emergence of the new public management as a model of reform of public administration, which has been a remarkable success in the Anglo-Saxon countries, Algeria has tried to apply its principles in many sectors.

So the research aims to Specify the limits of application of this model to reform the Algerian administration, Through an analytical study of the history and reality of the Algerian administration, with the identification of the most important obstacles that prevent the achievement of the desired objectives.

The study concluded that the Algerian administration is still struggling under the burden of rigid bureaucracy, which has generated resistance to any change on the pretext of non-harmonization of these reforms.

Therefore, The research recommended that the new public management principles should be reformulated and adapted, to reflect the specificity and principles of the Algerian administration, which are intended to achieve public benefit.
