the research aimed at identifying Egocentrism of the university students, identity Status Dominant of the university student.

differences in Egocentrism according to the both variable ( Gender and Specialization ) of the university student, differences in Identity Status according to the both variable ( Gender and Specialization ) of the university student .

the contribution of Egocentrism in Identity Status of the university student .

The sample of the research consisted of (400) students (female & male) were selected randomly stratified from (8) humanitarian colleges and the same number from scientific colleges in the amount of (216) students ( female & male ) from humanitarian colleges in the amount of (92) student and (124) female student and (184)students (female & male ) from scientific colleges in the amount of ( 52 ) male student and (132) female student .

The total student from male were (144), and total student from female were (256) .

Three instruments have been used in this research ; first : Egocentrism Scale constructed by the researcher consisted (42) items.

The characteristics of psychometric form Validity have been verified , discriminating power and the relation of the degree of item with total degree of the Scale, degree of the field with total degree of the Scale , then reliability has been verified by test retest.

The Correlation Coefficient was ( 0.73 ) and internal consistency of ( Alpha Cronbach )-Correlation Coefficient was (0.85) .

Second instrument is the Scale of identity Status of ( Bennion & Adams-1984 ) which was translated and adapted by ( Abdurrahman, 1998 ) for Egyptian environment which consisted of (62) items.

The characteristics of psychometric from Validity, discriminating power and construction Validity and reliability were verified .

The Correlation Coefficient through test retest of the Status (Achieved, Moratorium, Foreclosure and Diffusion ) were ( 0.80, 0.77, 0.75, 0.79 ).

the method of ( Alpha Cronbach ) was (0.83, 0.80, 0.79, 0.83 ) .

The following statistic means were used : The following statistical means was using :(Chi-square test, one sample T- test, Two independent sample T-test, Alpha Cronbach Pearson's Correlation Coefficient, Two way analysis of variance with interaction, Scheffee test & Multiple Regression analysis.

The Research find the following results: The students of the university enjoy high level of Egocentrism and in its dimensions of the imaginary audience, uniqueness, and the personal fables, except the dimension of Invulnerable, Regulate the dominated of identity for the university students which are :( Achieved, Moratorium, Diffusion and Foreclosure), There is no differences in the Egocentrism and due to the Gender, study specialization, interaction between the Gender and study specialization, There is no differences in Egocentrism (imaginary audience, uniqueness, and the personal fables and according to the study specialization and the reaction among them.

And the differences in the dimension of the immunity in the Gender in favor of the males, according the humanitarian study specialization and non-contribution of differences in the interaction between the Gender and the study specialization in the dimension of invulnerable, there are no differences in the Achieved and Moratorium identity and according to the Gender, and there are differences in the study specialization in favor of the humanitarian, also there are no differences in the interaction between the Gender and the study specialization in the Achieved identity.

There are no differences in the Gender, study Specialization and interaction between them Foreclosure and Diffusion, There are differences in the Gender in the academic adaptation and its dimensions ( adaptability in the curriculum, maturity of objectives, and the personal effectiveness) and the contribution of differences in the study Specialization in favor of the humanitarian, and non-contribution of differences in the interaction among them.

There are no differences in the dimension of the skills of the Gender, the study specialization and interaction between them There are no differences in the Gender in the dimension of mental health, and the contribution of differences in the study Specialization in favor of humanitarian of females.

The contribution of positive correlation statistical significant between Egocentrism and the Moratorium identity, also the contribution of correlation of statistical significant between Egocentrism and the identity(Achieved, Foreclosure, and Diffusion, the contribution of Egocentrism in the Moratorium identity, the researcher has presented a number of recommendations and suggestions.
